Promotion of Energy Efficiency in Kotri Area
Project objectives:

? Introduce Energy Efficient Products in 15 Villages to reduce indoor air pollution and promote health of women and children.

? Awareness raising among the communities regarding sustainable use of natural resources.

? To build capacity of homeowners to replace their conventional old technology wood heating appliances, with new higher-efficiency stoves


Activities:

? Establishing Project Office at Taulka Kotri
? Recruitment of Project staff
? Conduct Baseline Survey of the Area.
? Selection and finalization of potential villages.
? Organize 45 Mobilization Meetings with the Villagers of 15 Villages.
? installation of 1500 Smokeless Stoves
? installation/providing at least 150 solar lanterns in the villages
? Establishment of Women Skill Development Center
? Formation of 15 CBOs in 15 Villages of the target area.
? Organize 4 Management workshops for CBOs
? Formation of 5 Forest-Friendly Youth Groups
? Organize 4 Smokeless Stove manufacturing and installation trainings
? 4 interactive theaters to mobilize
? Formulation of 5 Forest-Friendly Youth Groups
? Purchasing furniture and fixtures
? Installment of Sign Boards
? Reporting and monitoring
? Final evaluation of the project

Anticipated output of project:

Expected Output:

? Around 5000 population of 15 villages is mobilized and aware on the issues of indoor pollution.
? Promoted solar energy in the villages through providing approximately 150 solar lanterns
? 15 CBOs formed in the project area and their office bearers elected
? Management Training and working for the development of their respective communities
? Community is trained and well-managed for protecting their natural resources
? Women are mobilized and sensitized in using fuel efficient stoves.
? Women Skill Development Center established.
? 90% Women from the targeted communities have least burden after installation of fuel efficient stoves.
? 5 Forest-Friendly Youth Groups formulated.
? Improved livelihood conditions of 1000 families through decreasing in cost for cooking fuel and other consumption purposes.
? At least 3000 people sensitized about environmental issues
? 3000 pamphlets published and distributed
? Awareness raised among at least 3000 people including stakeholders and general public;
