Environment up gradation through fuel efficient stoves
Project objectives:

? To introduce and promote energy efficient technology (Smokeless Stoves) in 20 villages Union Council Mehrapur.
? To raise awareness in the community members regarding environmental health and indoor air pollution in target villages.
? To provide capacity building to homeowners to replace their conventional old stoves with energy efficient stoves



Activities to be carried out under project:

Activities

? Recruitment of Project staff
? Selection and finalization of potential villages.
? Consultative meetings with community members
? Formation of 10 village organizations in target villages.
? Facilitate community through skill development in making fuel efficient stoves and ensure that atleast 1000 fuel efficient stoves are installed in the targeted villages
? 4 Capacity building workshops for local artisans to develop energy efficient products at local level.
? Organize Capacity building activities for community members.
? Social mobilization of the community through 4 interactive theatres of being friends of Environment.
? Establishing Project Office at Taulka Sakrand
? Purchasing furniture and fixtures
? Installment of Sign Boards
? Reporting and monitoring
? Final evaluation of the project

? 5000 Direct beneficiaries of the UC Mehrapur
? 15000 indirect beneficiaries of the UC Mehrapur

? Local NGOs and CBOs

Anticipated output of project:
Expected Output of the project

? Improved livelihood conditions of 1000 families through decreasing in cost for cooking fuel and other consumption purposes.
? Community is sensitized towards wood cutting and consuming less wood
? Fuel efficient stoves are saving environmental degradation and saving wood up to 40%
? 90% Women from the targeted communities have least burden after installation of fuel efficient stoves
? Community is trained and well-managed for protecting their natural resources
? Formed Village Organizations and committees are functioning and sensitizing the other community members about Energy Efficient Stoves and its benefits.
? Women are mobilized and sensitized in using fuel efficient stoves.
? Community members have built their capacity in proper usage and making of fuel efficient stoves.
