Project objectives:

1.Identification of Environmental problems especially trends of deforestation in Badin city and their possible solutions through a comprehensive research survey

2.Introduction of trend of GREEN BADIN through tree plantation and awareness campaign

3.Capacity building and civic education of a pool of 1000 volunteers (youth/students/ social activists) for the promotion of trend of social tree plantation

4.Plantation of 5000 various climate resistant beautification trees/ plants at the various locations of Badin city especially at public places/buildings/ offices/ schools/ roadsides/ streets/irrigation canals and etc.

5.Establishment/ rehabilitation of one public park well equipped with sufficient plantation and other necessities.

Activities to be carried out under project:

?Project orientation meetings with stakeholders
?Project launching ceremony
?Baseline survey of the area for the identification of spots/places for plantation
?Briefing to the all District level Departments about the findings of the survey and approval of collective action plan with consensus.
?Meetings with district level departments for participation in the GREEN BADIN Week
?Organizing 10 events on ?GREEN BADIN? Days celebration in selected 10 public and private Schools of Badin City
?GREEN BADIN Rally/ walk at District level
?Rehabilitation of Public Park Badin
?Establishment of Park in Islamia College Badin
?Identification/registration of 1000 volunteers ?students, youth, social activists, journalists, writers and other civil society actors ?
?Promoting and sensitizing the local community through media campaign such as writing valuable articles/columns/news stories in local as well as national newspapers/magazines and raising the issue through electronic media
?Preparation and printing of promotional and educational material for the awareness sessions
?Organization of 50 awareness gatherings for 1000 volunteers
?Hiring of horticulturist to lead the tree plantation component
?Identification and selection of climate resistant and beautification trees/ plants
?Identification and selection of sites/places for tree plantation with the consultation of related stakeholders.
?Plantation of approximate 10,000 trees at the various locations in the city
?Preparation of technical plan of work to prepare/rehabilitate the public park
?Inauguration of the public park
