Kamori Goat Farming for Sustainable Livelihoods and Environment
Project objectives:

1. Conserving the threatened breed of Kamori Goat
2. Increasing rearing of Kamori Goat tendency in the area to sustain this breed
3. Raising awareness among the local community to keep and sustain this breed

Activities to be carried out under project:

1. Strengthening the Kamori Goat Farm/Shed in Badin, which was developed under UNDP GEF SGP Project by PEHE
2. purchasing at least 15 goats
3. Identify at least 30 progressive livestock keepers in the area
4. Consultative and mobilization meetings with the identified progressive livestock keepers
5. Supply at least 30 goats annually to the local community
6. Organize two trainings for the progressive livestock keepers on the management of Kamori goat
7. Organize a distribution ceremony of Kamori Goats
8. Mobilizing local community to sustain this breed and increase production
9. Introduce the Goat in major Livestock markets of District Badin to increase rearing
10. Establishing Project Office within Farm Shed
11. Reporting and monitoring
12. Final evaluation of the project

Anticipated output of project:
The project is aimed at conserving the threatened breed of Kamori Goat in Sindh, with focus to increase its rearing and promotion in the Indus Deltaic area. Major anticipated outputs of the project are;
? Communities are mobilized to conserve the threatened breed of Kamori Goat
? Kamori Goat farm is strengthened in Badin, and rearing of Kamori Goat is ensured through supply of goat on two years agreement to the communities
? Increased incomes of the poor families
? Increased rearing of Kamori Goat in the targeted area
? Developed market of Kamori Goat through effective awareness raising and motivational sessions.
? Progressive farmers, livestock keeping communities are able to rear the indigenous species of Kamori Goat.
