Renewable Energy Supporting Nature School in Balikesir
The project is designed to complement the TUR/SGP/OP4/RAF/08/01/02 project in the same area, which is working on breeding Alextoris chukar and releasing them into the habitat, while at the same time managing the land as a hunting ground where there is no hunting, legal or illegal, in a way to provide the use of renewable enery sources to create the energy supply the breeding of the birds required. With the project there will be installation of solar panels, wind turbine and a converter system as well as a wind-power supported irrigation system. The project will also help young people in the area, particularly those coming from orphanage in the area to get a better understanding of the enviornmental issues and the climate change.

Capacity - Building Component
The project is run by people from Social Services, involving children from orphanages and aims to raise their awareness and capacity on issues related to climate change as well as taking part in one of the very few community-conserved-areas in Turkey.
