Scaling up of a managed approach for Solid Waste managemnet community peoples institution Swachh Dhara Pariyojna
Goal ?
To provide ? and also initiate the implementation of ? long term, institutional solutions to the persistent problem of domestic solid wastes and the solid and liquid waste generated at various temples of Ujjain city.
Objectives:
? Demonstrate some methods that would be locally appropriate for the physical management of different types of solid and liquid wastes
? Facilities for proper management of wastes are currently inadequate within the city of Ujjain.

Project Characteristics and Results
Capacity - Building Component
The project plans to have a series of workshops for residents, staffs of the municipal corporation, NGOs, shopkeepers, medical practitioners , rag pickers, school and college teachers and temple committees etc. these workshop will help to create a climate supportive of developing a proper waste management systems.
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
The project runs with an approach to convert waste into wealth and to increase income of rag pickers. The souirce of income is the payment from the household ,sale of the vermi compost and other dry wastes .Also the Paper recyling Unit and Vermi compost unit provides regular employment to the SHGs members.
