The Improvement of Land Arrangement to Ensure Water Resource for Agricultural Activities in Mount Kelud Slope, Blitar District
Project Development Goals :
To implement environmental-perspective area management and to conserve spring water resource in Kelud Mountain slope area.
Project Development Objectives :
1. Strengthening targeted communities;
2. Materializing ecological-based land use map in 3 community groups;
3. Introducing organic farm and alternative energy utilization (biogas) to community;
4. Materializing participatory conservation plan for spring water resources;
5. Initiating the establishment of local regulation and policies supporting area management and spring water resources conservation
Expected Outputs :
1. Existing participatory land use map and its potency
2. Implemented short training on organic farming and utilization of biogas as alternative energy
3. Existing participatory planning of community to conserve spring water resources, organic farming, biogas implementation, and development of income generating activities for community
4. Existing participatory planning to initiate:
a. village-level policies to protect the sustainability of spring water resources
b. local policies involving city and district level government that applies area management perspective instead of just ?emergency rescue?
5. Existed participatory planning for income generating activities for communties, such as revolving fund scheme s
Activities to be conducted:
1. Organizing environmental-based land use plan
a. Workshop on Kelud area arrangement
b. Program socialization
c. Survey and mapping on spring water resource in Mount Kelud area
d. Establishing organic farm and biogas demonstration plot
2. Conducting participatory planning with communities to:
a. Conserve spring water resources
b. Apply organic farming
c. Develop biogas
d. Develop income generating activities for community
e. Initiate village-level policies to protect the sustainability of spring water resources
f. Initiate local policies involving city and district level government that applies area management perspective instead of just ?emergency rescue?
Project Participants and/or beneficiaries:
Direct : 3 farmer groups
Indirect : 800 farmers (4,000 persons)
