Community-Based Buret Lake Conservation Program in Sawo Village, Campurdarat Sub-district, Tulungagung District
Project Development Goals :
Conserved Buret Lake as water resource for villages in Campurdarat Subdistrict and as object of lake eco-tourism
Project Development Objetives :
1. Establishing dam along river basin of Buret Lake to avoid river flow trivialisation and to sustain water supply for villages located near Buret Lake, especially in dry season while conserving turtles and softshell turtles;
2. Conducting land conservation around Buret Lake, river basin, and deforested area located at the upstream of Buret Lake;
3. Conserving biodiversity and local knowledge/wisdom around Buret Lake area;
4. Raising awareness and information dissemination among community regarding the importance of critical land rehabilitation towards community social, economy, and cultural aspects.
Expected Outputs :
1. Decreased landslide and sedimentation of Buret Lake that can disrupted fish and shoft shell turtle habitat;
2. Continuity of water supply for community;
3. Conducted reforestation in critical land area both in protected forest and river basin of Buret Lake;
4. Established community group who will manage Buret Lake independently;
5. Existing village regulation to protect Buret Lake
Activities to be conducted:
1. Establishing river basin dam in lake area;
2. Conducting land conservation around Buret Lake, river basin, and lake buffer zone;
3. Managing public facility around Buret Lake;
4. Developing micro-economy institution;
5. Developing community organization by providing education and training;
6. Endorsing village regulation advocacy to support the program
Project Participants and/or beneficiaries:
1257 households or 5,600 persons in Sawo Village
