CULTIVATION OF SALVIA OFFICINALIS IN THE MOUNTAINOUS COMMUNITIES OF NORTH EASTERN PART OF ALBANIA
The project consists in the semi natural cultivation of sage (Salvia officinalis) in some of the lowest income communities of the north eastern part of Albania. The project consists in the distribution of the seedlings and in a small subsidy for the first year.
The remoteness and the isolation of these communities make them vulnerable to unfair price policies that can lower their margin of profit significantly. The project provides another important assistance to these communities in the form of the support and coordination to strengthen linkages between growers of MAP and buyers in an effort to provide a fair market.
