Action for Land And Resource Management (ALARM) in Dukri, Kimirda, Kudahatu villages of Chakradharpur block in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand
Objective:
Strategic Objective1: Rural communities protect and manage their natural resources by demonstrating the Public Private Community Partnership (PPCP) approach.
Intermediary results 1: Communities are well-organized to protect and manage their natural resources.
Intermediary results 2: VDC link with other institutions (government and non-government) to develop micro plans and mobilize resources.
Intermediary results 3: Communities have soil conservation measures and water harvesting structures by June 2012.
Output:
? 3 number of Village Development Committee (VDC) trained in Basic Principles and Common Property Resource Management
? 3 number of VDC with Integrated Development Plan (IDP)
? 3 number of VDC with resource mobilizing strategies
? 50000 m farm bunding ? Soil Conservation Structure completed.
? 10000 m diversion drain and Nala bunding Soil Conservation Structure completed
? 150 Gully plugs - Soil Conservation Structure completed
? 20 numbers of Farm Ponds, Earthen Dam, and 5% model for water-harvesting are completed
? 170 ha cultivable area is brought under double cropping
? 150 households maintain Kitchen Garden
Activity:
? Establish and/or strengthen Village Development Committees(VDC)
? Train VDC on Basic Principles on Natural Resources Management along with Soil and water Conservation Structures, Construction Procedures, Record Keeping and Maintenance.
? Train Village Development Committee on Common Property resource Management (CPRM)
? Conduct Convergence Workshops with VDCs to develop Integrated Development Plan (Separate micro plan for water and soil conservation and for improved/diversified Agricultural practices)
? Develop hamlet level micro plan for water and soil conservation along with resources.
? Submit the hamlet level Micro Plans along with the required resources to the Block office through the Gram Sabha and consolidate into one revenue village micro- plan.
? Conduct follow up meeting with the Block level officials to 1) monitor approval process of the micro-plans and 2) provide updates on work-to-date and how the PPCP model is functioning.
? Train Village Develop Committee on specific Natural Resource Management issues, including Soil and Water Management.

Capacity - Building Component
All comunity based organisation (SHG's,Framer's group,Village Development Committee) will be capacitated in preparing micro-plans and accessing resources from different schemes.The Village Development Committe will be capacitated as village leaders who would become the assests of the community.They will be trained on how to advocate for funding from block level officials NREGA,NABARD,DRDA, and KVIC. Exposure trips arranged for 30 villagers. 70 SHG's formed. Formation of 3 farmers samiti.
