Biodiversity Conservation through Establishing Community Conservation Area
This project is aiming at conservation of three natural conservation lakes (11.50 ha) and replanting 3.50 ha flooded forest and protection 10 ha of existing flooded forest. The project will also support the 6 Community Fisheries Committees to sign an agreement with Fisheries Administration (FiA). They will also address the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources mainly fisheries and flooded forest in the area under increasing human pressure on those resources by strengthening 18 women saving & self-help groups to create community-based alternatives livelihood.

Notable Community Participation
- This project was initiative by 6 community Fisheries and it will be directly implemented by those Community Fisheries. Each Community Fisheries has the project leader which she/he will be responsible for project implementation and monitoring & evaluation as well. - The total beneficiaries from the project is11, 804 people which 5899 are women and 65% of them are destitute people. -Community have put their in kind contribution to the project equal to USD $ 17326
Gender Focus
- 54 women will become community leaders and they have strong ability to lead the groups. All the women self-help And saving groups are lead by women and they receive directly benefit from participation and management of their groups. - According to community gender analysis during project proposal development, the result showed that more than 70% women have been continued to protect the nature resources in the goal area in high wiling.50% women have good cooperation to get full supporting from authorities. 50% of women have ability to reconcile community, they have good strategy to solve the controversy and prepare the regular meeting, monitoring, implementing and planning.
