Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Agriculture is the prime occupation of the people in the project area as around 60% of the populations are dependent upon the agriculture for their livelihood. With the heavy usage of chemical fertilizers in the field, the quality of soil of the have deteriorated such that it requires almost double the amount of chemical fertilizers and moisture even to get the optimum production from the field. On addition to that many of the traditional varieties of the crops that were grown in the area earlier are not found now. Farmers of the region cannot grow crops in the dry season due to high water demand by the soil. As such the project aims to revive the traditional knowledge for the appropriate use in the sustainable agriculture practices, establishment justice of knowledge holders, protection, preservation and control of the cultural heritage in the project area.
