Replacement of Chemical fertilizer and pesticide by organic farming for sustainable production of vegetable crops
Replacement of Chemical fertilizer and pesticide by organic farming for sustainable production of vegetable crops
Objective:
Control the hazardous affect of chemical fertilizer and pesticides on environment and life.
Improve the agricultural practices by shifting over to the usage of bio-manures, and other related bio fertilizers.
Increase the productivity of the agricultural land and to promote reclamation of land fertility through organic farming.
Check Biomass and cow dung burning as fuels. Explore alternates.
Change the mindset of farmers and make them aware about the efficacy of natural and scientific farming technique.
Establish network with agriculture university, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ATMA and State Agriculture Management and Training Institute for introduction of low cost technologies

Output:
75 Acres of land brought into use of organic farming and practices physical and biological measure to control pest in three years.
Reduced the declining rate of fertility of the land and improved the productivity through replacing chemical farming by organic farming.
Check biomass and cow dung burning as the fuel.
Improved water retention capacity of soil because of its high organic matter content and promotes better root growth and nutrient absorption.
Organic compost is also helpful in increasing macronutrient and micronutrient of the soil
Reduced carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide and methane, greenhouse gasses (GHG) that contribute to global warming. Organic agriculture could double soil carbon sequestration in livestock based systems and decrease GHG by 48-60 percent.
Income level improves due to cost minimization on fertilizers & pesticide and changes the living standards of community members.

Activity:
Awareness generation about organic farming to community. Choose possible alternatives,
Introduction of organic manuring, Biological / natural pest and weed control cropwise
Integrated pest management, Vermiculture, Microbial bio fertilisers. Specialised organic farming techniques
Demonstration plots on checking biomass and cow dung burning, fuel efficient stoves introduction
Development of community experts from each Village. Training and capacity building programme
Exposure visits, Promotion of Producer Groups
Linkage with financial institutions the SHGs and working through them
Promote Video Conferencing through V-SAT (ISRO)
Establishment healthy relationship with marketing agencies, Technical Institution and Agriculture Department.
Networking with Technical Institutions and Agriculture Department, Organization of Workshops
Community meetings and village meetings agreements.
