Promoting utilization of solar energy in pumping irrigation water from collection pools
This project on promoting utilization of solar energy in pumping water from irrigation collection pools. The project is a demonstration project aims at reducing 6000 kg co2 per year through utilizing solar energy in generating electricity instead of using diesel motor. Through out this project a total quantity of 100 m3 of irrigation water will be pumped per day from public collection pool owned by 3 villages "Betello, Deir Amar and Jamalah". The project will serve 10 to 15 families who lack power supply from electrify grid network to operate their water pumps. The key activities include: forming local community to follow up project implementation and operation, prepare system design, and bidding document. Also the project will rasise community awareness on climate change mitigation and give a special focus on energy efficiency and saving techniques" and provide training on system maintenance for members of the community committee. This project is potential of replication as there is more than 70 community lack power supply in the West Bank.
