Socio-economic and environmental baseline survey of Narerri Lagoon
Narreri Lagoon Situated at extreme proximity of sea, a land of about 16000 acres surrounded a deltaic Ramsar site. Narreri Lagoon was thought to be a key resource of coastal fishing livelihood of the local population before the construction of World Bank funded evil mega project of the Left Bank Outfall Drain (L.B.O.D) and before the stoppage of regular sufficient flow of Indus water to the Indus delta.
The Narreri was providing a huge natural hatchery to the fishing stock as well as a great sanctuary to the birds migrated from the upper world during the coldest winters.
This planning grant is awarded to Delta Development Program badin in order to conduct socio-economic assessment and feasibility for the rehabilitation of Narerri lagoon
