Sustainable environment through energy efficient products
BADIN IS AN OLD CITY THAT WAS ESTABLISHED ON 1750. BADIN WAS CREATED AS DISTRICT ON 1ST JANUARY 1975. THE DISTRICT BADIN IS BOUNDED ON THE NORTH BY THE TALUKA TANDO MOHAMMAD KHAN AND TANDO ALLAHYAR OF THE DISTRICT HYDERABAD, ON THE EAST BY THE TALUKA DIGHRI, AND THE DIPLO OF THE DISTRICT THARPARKAR, ON THE SOUTH THE DISTRICT EXTENDS UPTO THE SALT BELTS OF THE RUN OF KATCH, BEYOND WHICH LIES THE INDIAN TERRITORY OF CUTCH BHUJ, ON THE WEST THE DISTRICT OF BADIN EXTENDS UPTO TALUKA JATI AND MIR PUR BATHORO OF THE DISTRICT THATTA. THE SEACOAST LIES ON THE SOUTHWEST OF THE DISTRICT AT A DISTANCE OF ABOUT 97 TO 113 KMS.
Union Council Kadi Kazia & Seerani is located in the east side of the Badin city. On the north side its boundaries share with the Union Council of Badin U/CIII Badin of Taluka Badin. On the Southern side it shares its boundaries with Union Council Lunwari Sharif. There are about 100 villages in union Council Kadi Kazia & Seerani.Total population of these villages is 75881. There are 8547 Households and on an average each household has the 9 to 10 family members out of which 28373 male, 30800 females, and 16708 are children. Objectives of the project are
1. Reducing indoor air pollution through installation, promotion and replication of energy efficient products
2. raising awareness of community on energy efficient products and mobilizing the community
Activities against predetermined objectives are
1. Installation of approximately 700 energy efficient stoves
3. Installation of approximately 50 units of water warming facility
4. Installation of 17 units of solar lantern
5. Installation of 1 solar street light
6. Tree Plantation campaign
7. Organizing two trainings of community members on community management and social activism, leadership
8. training of 20 artisans on the manufacturing of energy efficient products
9. Promote public awareness of environmental issues through public campaigns/promotional activities, printing and publication
10. Organizing two exposure visits for the members of community/inter village visits
11. baseline survey
12. formation of community organizations in 25 villages
13. printing and publication
14. organizing one union council level seminar
15. meetings with local NGOs, representatives
