The project that aims to promote environmental education and reforest areas of Lurio and Etatara administrative posts where local communities clear forests for production of charcoal and harvest of firewood; bushfires also lead to environmental degradation of the region; the project will integrate ecosystem preservation with sustainable use of natural resources involving local communities and relevant district stakeholders; other problems existent in the region like poor watershed management, inadequate farming practices and illegal offtake of wildlife resources will also be addressed by the project.
