Land Management and Conservation of Old Church in Palapye
Land Management and Conservation of Old Church in Palapye
The old Church in Palapye lies around Malaka near Palapye in the central District area is well endowed (rich) with natural resources and archaeological artefacts and sites. The area has lied idle for many years hence it has bean affected by many problems. For example indiscriminate cutting down of trees. It has been overgrazed and therefore the site building is not spared from this damage.

The project aims at promoting sustainable land management and conservation through community involvement. With the development and/or expansion of Palapye village it is expected that there could be unsustainable use of the site. The intention is therefore to raise awareness and appreciation of natural resources with view of encouraging sustainable use. The objectives will be achieved through a series of kgotla meetings, dialogue with stakeholders through a workshop, registration as a legal entity to enable access to funds and production of a proposal for a full project.
