I. BACKGROUNG AND OBJECTIVES

Kawkaba village is located in Rashayia area in Bekaa valley. The area is mainly agricultural and it is marginalized. The area suffered from forest fires especially last year. The farmers of this area travel at least 40 km to buy plants at high cost.
The Project aims at increasing the awareness level on Environment and Agriculture in Rashayia area through the establishment of the first fruit tree nursery in the area. Villagers including farmers and students will participate in all the projects activities. Also Municipalities? councils of 26 villages will participate in this project as well as governmental and non Governmental bodies operating in this area.

II. ACTIVITIES

- Decide on the location of the agricultural center (Plant nursery),
- Establishment of a building equipped with necessary audio visual equipments to aquaint students from the area.
- Green houses establishment for propagation of seedlings,
- Provision of irrigation water tank and irrigation system,
- Conduct training sessions on planting for interested people and students in the area,
- Involving students in adopting a tree in the nursery through planting it, take care of it in the nursery and later in the field.
