Creating Opportunities for Alternative Energy Through Regeneration of Land and Biological Resources and Livelihood Promotion of Women and Men in India”
Project aims to create opportunities for alternative energy through regeneration of land and biological resources and livelihood through promotion of plantation and establishment of local nurseries of pongamia pinnata , creating alternative fuels, conserve and revitalize water resources by creating network of ponds, establishing weather centres in the project implementing states , training and capacity building of beneficiaries and skill improvement in the areas of waste recycling, water management, compost making technologies and seed production. Tree plantation would help in restricting wind break, thus, arresting soil erosion, enhancing crop productivity and enhanced local biodiversity, thereby reducing the chances of desertification. It would also have global benefits of carbon sequestration.It would provide a better livelihood leading to a better quality of life

Replication of project activities
! The project promoted an innovative model of civil society network and model of implementing. ! Live demonstrations and implementation of project activities in 3 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra benefit 2950 women & men who are small/marginal farmer households. ! Information dissemination through RIOD and AIFWA networks in the states of Karnataka and Uttaranchal for replication of the technologies in the field of: - Castor: 10 to of FYM/ha, Seed treatment of biofertilizers i.e. Azospirillum/Azotobacter and PSB Chemical fertilizers required crop rotation with legumes.
Policy Impact
Contingency crop planning has ensured food security and productivity of the farmers in the project location.
