Promotion of Environment conservation awareness for villages adjacent to Selous Game Reserve in Tunduru District
Health and Development Foundation (HEDEFO) is a registered NGO based in Tunduru and with operations in Ruvuma Region. The NGO is focussing on three major objectives which are Conservation of environment and sustainable use of natural resources, poverty reduction and HIV-AIDS - home based care for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAS).
The project main objective is to compliment enforcement of conservation laws by increasing awareness on environment conservation and sustainable use of natural resources to local communities in 10 wards that surround protected areas in Tunduru district. It will also promote bee-keeping and rabitry as an alternative income generating activities with the view to reduce poaching of wild animals and illegal logging.
