Indigenous Knowledge Based Ecological Management System
Indigenous communities in Pakistan have maintained their original set of values to live an environment friendly life. One of the possible interpretations could be that indigenous communities in Pakistan are untouched by the modern prosperity of technological advancement and economic growth. Their way of living is very near to nature thus it is more conducive for natural ecological system as compared to technologically advanced world. Their social, cultural and economic conditions distinguish them from other sections of the national community, and whose status is regulated wholy or partially by their own customs or traditions. The communities include are Jogis, Rebaris, Jat, Odd, Kolhi, Bheel, Bagiri, Muhanas/Mallah, Sheedi, Brohi and Kabootra/Shikari, which are living in Tharparker , Kohistan, (Jamshoro district) Lake Manchar, Kachho (Dadu district) Indus Delta area (Badin and Thatta district) of Sindh.
