Promoting the protection, conservation and sustainable use of the marine resources of the Belize Barrier Reef System through Advanced Training and Education for Marine Tour Guides on the Placencia Peninsula
The primary goal of this project is to increase appreciation, awareness and stewardship of the natural resources base of the southern Belize Barrier Reef System by marine tour guides. This proposal seeks funding for several advanced training courses for marine tour guides, and GPS and computer skills training for up to 20 licensed tour guides working on the Peninsula, equipment and an exchange visit to HolBox, Mexico for participation in the 2nd International Whale Shark Conference.
