Eco-tourism managment in Rouche Marine Protected Area, Halah, Hadibu, Socotra
Rouche Protected area is located in Halah region, north-eastern part of Socotra. The PA is located 400m off shore. Communities in the two neighbouring villages establishement of basic infrusttructure and capacity to host eco-tourism especially that their PA has significant coral and rocks attract significant number of tourists without being guided for mutual benefits.
The project will ensure the followings: Water supply, and basic infrustructure e. g. Kitchen, Store, Dinning shade, bathrooms, Solar energy sysem for lighting, capacity building, and bedding. The project will raise environmental awareness among communities towards sustanable management of the ecosystem in Rouche PA and the two neighbouring PA (one is an important cafe).

Inovative Financial Mechanisms
- The project income will be managed in a transparency manner to allow managing the project and expanding it to suite possible increased tourism and reduce its impact.
- Out of the income gained from the camp site the Marine PA will be managemed paid by the prioject.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
- Three workshops of one day will be held for men and women to raise awareness about local and global environment.
- One day training workshop will be held on how to manage solid waste in the region.
- One leaflet will be published about the PA and the surrounding enviironment
