Capacity building of the Mbororo community in basic animal health care and biodiversity conservation through cultivation of medicinal plants (ethnovet) (Alegefor/Mendong-Mboh hills Tubah sub division)
Today few scholars or developers would dispute the fact that local animal healthcare practices are often quite effective, more cost-efficient, and certainly more available, culturally comfortable, and comprehensible than, scientific or conventional ones (however one might define the latter). The ultimate goal of the project is to take validated indigenous knowledge back to the communities in the form of appropriate educational aids.
The main goals of the project are to promote the complementary use of indigenous and conventional veterinary medicine for sustainable livestock production, and to promote the conservation of medicinal plant resources.
