Extrativismo e Comercialização do Produtos Agroextrativistas
transition area between Cerrado and Amazônia, where two important rivers of the Amazon basin meet, the Araguaia and Tocantins. Another project, at the federal level, intends to promote irrigated fruit cultures along the rivers? margins, which has met strong resistance by local communities. The region is also the stage for land tenure conflicts between agribusiness and small farmers fighting for expropriation of unproductive land to constitute Agrarian Reform Settlements.
