Ditlhakane river-a river that transformed the lives of the people in Gabane village, now facing modern environmental degradation
This is an environmental feature documentary that explores, analyzes and exposes happenings in a natural resource (river) between the two villages of Gabane and Kumakwane. The river's proximity to urban and peri-urban area has subjected it to pollution, natural resources depletion; abuse and has turned into a venue for human exploitation. This project looks into the origins of the river; its past and present uses, then forecast its future.

The documentary will be in three parts; firstly the river's beneficial effects to the communities in the surrounding areas over the years, secondly the documentary will then look at the changes brought about by modern developmental activities; and thirdly it will conclude the overall confusion caused by the changes and endeavor to forecast amendments that can be provided in order for people to harmoniously co-exist with the natural resource.

Project Characteristics and Results
Replication of project activities
Most likely! From the time the rehabilitation of the degraded area starts footage would be started. This would help in documenting the proceedings followed to bring it to the status the rehabilitation is envisaged to bring. Future generations would thus be able to know the importance of jealously guarding their heritage. A detailed book should also be published for future use.
Planning gef grant
Most likely! With filming and rehabilitating an area, which requires both expertise and volunteering, boosted by passion for the best would require more funds. Bio-diversity, for the sake of absorbing sinister impacts of climate change cannot be over ruled. Operations there obviously provided for extinction of some species of creatures whose replacement could be costly.
