Benil Oc'Keb Ha Indigenous Community Conservation Area Capacity Development Project
This project seeks to improve livelihoods of San Antonio residents by addressing key conservation issues and further develop capacities to offer several tourism products and services.

Benil Oc?Keb Ha (BOH) will develop a strategic plan and several members will receive needed training to enhance their capacities to take advantage of a growing conservation/ecotourism industry.

The project proposal was developed through the use of the flip chart proposal format and its objectives are:

1. To increase capacity and create livelihood opportunities for the members and other stakeholders;
2. To decrease the unsustainable farming practices in the community;
3. To produce a clear Strategic plan for the group; and
4. To develop an alternative and dynamic eco-cultural tourism product and services

At the completion of the project it is expected that:

1. Six females and nine males will be trained tour guides;
2. The group will have an established and functional office/headquarters;
3. At least 15 women will be certified in food preparation for tourists;
4. At least 50% of the community farmers will be aware of sustainable agricultural practices and fire prevention measures;
5. A strategic plan that articulates enterprise development and best management practices for the group will be developed; and
6. Report that articulates lessons learnt throughout the project?s implementation will be developed.
