Improving The Quality of Life and Livelihood of the Rural Community Through Sustainable use of local resources
The goal of the proposed project is to develop a replicable Model Village(AMAR GRAM) with people's participation, along with its management plan, which promote sustainable, eco-friendly and equitable socio-economic development of rural people primarily through local resource management by way of four inter-related activities, viz. education, training, research and belongingness(ownership) among the villagers towards their own village(resources) and empowering them through proper training.

The project will implement an integrated Soil-Water-Biota Management (ISWBM) promoting community participation in sustainable development. A participatory approach will be followed to document local resources and its utilization including biodiversity assessment, valuable traditional knowledge systems & culture at village level for ensuring the process of sustainable use establishing a replicable model of sustainable livelihoods along with its future management plan.

Notable Community Participation
A series of meetings and strategic planning workshops with the community, government officials, panchayat members, community leaders (following PRA methodologies) for sensitizing the target groups and building of ownership to the project is in built in the proposal. One of the major objectives of the project is to include local people as partners, not as beneficiaries by making them contribute their ideas, suggestions, manpower and financial support.
