Organic Agriculture with corn, faba beans and potatoes; and reforestation of pine, cypress and abies guatemalensis trees in Cantón La Nueva Jerusalén, Tacaná, San Marcos, Guatemala
The project will consist in the cultivation of potatoes, corn and faba beans using various organic methods. Soil conservation methods will be implemented.
Cypress, pine and abies guatemalensis trees will be reforested on 22 ha of communal land and 1.3 ha of private land.
31 lombriculture boxes will be made and used.
Training workshops will be given in composting, soil conservation, tree nurseries, lombriculture, organic fertilisers and pesticides, management of natural resources, disaster prevention, commercialisation, women's rights, domestic violence, self-esteem and leadership.
