Role of Local Community in Integrated Management of Water and Land Resources and Improved Land Productivity in Al Kitteh Area
In Al Kitteh Village, adjacent to Dibeen Nature Reserve, west of Jerash governorate, Al Kitteh Charity Society will implement the "“Role of Local Community in Integrated Management of Water and Land Resources and Improved Land Productivity in Al Kitteh Area.” Project. The project aims at improving the efficiency of water use from available springs in the project area in order to enhance irrigation of agricultural lands and improve agricultural productivity. This will be achieved through construction of cement irrigation channels and maintaining old ones, constructing rain-collection cisterns in a bid to eventually impact the environmental, socio-economic conditions of the local community of Al Kitteh. The value of this grant amounts to US$ 31,100.

Notable Community Participation
The CBO consists of community members, who were involved in the project development phase, together with other local community members in the village and they will be the direct beneficiaries of the project.
Capacity - Building Component
The CBO's capacities in project management will be enhanced as a result of implementation of this project. They will participate in training workshops organized by the SGP and will improve their communication capabilities through the exchange of experiences with other similar SGP interventions in their area and other areas of the country.
