UNDP GEF/RNE SGP Stakeholders Writeshops
The project aims to conduct of five (5)stakeholders' writeshops in five (5) areas, which were not covered in 2001 and 2002 to bring together SGP grantees and potential grantees for the exchange of information on community-based biodiversity conservation and climate change initiatives. The workshops shall be held for the following areas: Bicol Region; Southern Tagalog (Sorsogon, Camarines Norte, Romblon, Masbate, Mindoro); Samar-Leyte Provinces and Camotes Island; Southern Mindanao (South Cotabato, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Sarangani Province, North Cotabato ) and Northern Mindanao (Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte). The activity shall also orient potential grantees on how to develop project proposals that fall within the SGP focus and directions.

Capacity - Building Component
Apart from being a proactive way of assisting the NGO/PO community in developing project proposals that would fall under the SGP thrusts/ priorities, these writeshops will also be able to (a) build/initiate partnership for community-based activities in addressing biodiversity conservation and climate change, and (b) disseminate lessons learned and best practices. The two (2)-day writeshop shall include the following topics/activities:· Presentations on the global environment scenario; Status of SGP-funded projects: success stories and lessons learned; GEF/RNE SGP mechanics, guidelines, procedures and criteria; Presentations on resource mobilization, networking and linkaging; Actual writeshop; Project concept presentation and critiquing; Dissemination of the best practices/lessons learned of SGP-funded community-based projects for possible adoption, etc.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Target Outputs: Project concepts/proposals that fall within the SGP focus prepared and critiqued; SGP potential grantees informed on the guidelines, criteria, and procedures of the GEF/RNE SGP and other existing funding facilities available to NGOs/POs/CBOs; SGP potential grantees updated on the environment scenario at the global, regional, national and community levels;
