Study and Documentation of the Holok and Muyong Systems of the Ifugaos (LUZON)
Study and Documentation of the Holok and Muyong Systems of the Ifugaos (LUZON)
The project were able to study and documented the holok (indigenous pest management system) and muyong (indigenous forest management system) of the Ifugaos to be used in the information-dissemination campaign for biodiversity conservation. The Ifugao Resource Development Center (IRDC) formed a research team composed of staff and some members from the project areas to handle the detailed implementation of the project. Assistance of a plant systematist was tapped from the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman to identify the plant specimens (holok). Resource persons for the study were respected traditional priests and herbal practitioners from the project sites.
