Local Networking for Forest Fires
This project will present a local ecological literacy guide presenting the ecological structure and natural cycles of the Köyce?iz-Dalyan Special Environmental Protection Area. The target group who will benefit from the guide is the urban-based lifestyle migrants who settled in the region later. The project has three aims. Firstly, to create a permanent awareness that will support sustainable forest conservation. The second aim is to enable those who settled in the region later to develop daily habits friendly with nature. The third aim is to record the ancient knowledge of the villagers who have lived in the region for generations and to transfer their sustainable nature habits to the newcomers.Within the scope of the project, an interactive and permanent dialogue will be created for the sharing of ecological knowledge, especially between post-Covid-19 lifestyle migrants and local villagers who have knowledge of local resources. The project will carry out focus group meetings and workshops to achieve the local ecological literacy guide output that will be produced as a result of this dialogue These are as such: This project will directly contribute to the following emphasis GEF SGP: a) protecting unique point endemics b) ensuring participatory protection of the ecosystem c) employing local knowledge to struggle with climate change d) preventing deforestation applying nature conservation practices of local people
