Low-carbon community development
The main objective of the project is to demonstrate the use of solar for water heating as well as low-carbon access co-benefit, and to establish major partnerships with local authorities, CSOs, communities and volunteers to work on climate change and security issues. Specific project tasks are the following: to implement demonstration project on solar power in Oblast hospital for war veterans; to develop, print and disseminate awareness raising materials; to carry out public hearings on climate change adaptation for local community.

Project Characteristics and Results
Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods
As part of the project, a 6.6 kW power plant was installed at the Svyatogirsk Oblast hospital for war veterans. It can produce 17.6 MW of electricity per year, which significantly reduces CO2 emissions and save money on other community needs.

Gender equality is a part of project policy and all parties participate in project activities on equal base and benefit from project results.
