Name of proposed project : The development documentation guidelines for registration ICCAs in Indonesia
Site of Project : Bulukumba (South Sulawesi, Orang Rimba (Jambi), Kasepuhan Karang (Banten), dan Tana Ulen (Malinau, North Kalimantan)
Duration : 12 months
Starting date : 1 June 2016 – 15 June 2017

Protected the living space of indigenous people and local communities
Objective 1 : WGII getting stronger as a network of service centers in support of the existence of ICCAs in Indonesia
Indicators : 1. Availability of information systems ICCAs in Indonesia through the website WGII (
2. Publication of ICCAs documentation manuals in PDF form on the network member WGII and social media
Activities : 1. Preparation of the guidelines document for registration ICCAs in BRWA and ICCA Registry
2. Follow-up consultation documentation guidelines for registration (update documentation ICCAs in 4 locations)
3. Management Training for ICCAs national level
Objective 2 : Indigenous and local communities as well as companion is able to document and promote ICCAs as a model of development that is equitable and sustainable
Indicators : 1. Report of 3 ICCA’s site in Indonesia facilitated by trainer and the community in preparing traditional spatial plan.
2. 4 Document the process and result documentation ICCAs
Activities : 1. Documentation ICCA in 4 locations SGP OP6 (Gorontalo, Wakatobi, Nusa Penida and Semau)
2. Facilitate the preparation of management plans ICCAs at the field level as well as well as data updates ICCAs to global registry.
Objective 3 : The strengthening of advocacy support the recognition and protection of the rights of indigenous peoples and customary territory
Indicators : 3. 1. Report 3 FGD associated with policy advocacy and biodiversity conservation
4. 2. Report of the recognition and protection ICCAs learning outcome of the meeting at the World Conservation Congress (WCC)
Activities : 1. Carrying FGD revision of the Law 5/90 in shaping the draft Biodiversity Conservation
2. Attend the World Conservation Congress (WCC) in Hawaii

1. The guidance documentation for registration ICCAs in Indonesia
2. There are four documents ICCAs ICCAs is registered to Global Registry (
3. There are 10 facilitators and communities who understand and are able to plan ICCAs management on an ongoing basis.
4. The availability of a management plan ICCAs 3 and used by the people in protecting and managing ICCAs region.

Direct : 1. Indigenous and local community in 8 site ICCAs in strengthening the recognition, protection and management of ICCAs.
2. The companion community and communities in 15 sites that have documented ICCAs ICCAs involved in management training ICCAs (TNBD, Batang, Malinau, Kaladan Island, Barunang Dua Hai Lake, Lake Empangau, Meratus, Kasepuhan Karang, Bulukumba, Merauke, Kokas , Haruku, Ternate, Gulf JORR), Meratus, Kasepuhan Karang, Bulukumba, Merauke, Kokas, Haruku, Ternate, Teluk Jorr).
Indirect : 1. The Ministry and relevant agencies and local governments are drawing up management policies and recognition of protected areas, social forestry (indigenous forests) and spatial.
2. Institutions WGII members who advocate for the protection and recognition of the rights of indigenous / local people and their living space, through the provision of adequate data is ICCAs.

WGII will submit financial and narrative probgress reports to UNDP and GEF-SGP according to the following deadlines:
