GOAL (VISION)
Supporting the strengthening of initiatives and creative actions of groups/communities for the protection of seascape and landscape of Semau Island.

OBJECTIVES
Objective 1 : Groups/communities are supported to develop initiatives and creative actions for the protection of seascape and landscape in Semau island
Indicators : 1. The presence of 46 activities on the 10 selected themes from the 20 groups/communities to support the strengthening and development of people’s initiatives and creative actions in Semau
2. Grants to about 20 groups/communities in 46 activities of initiatives and creative collective actions for the protection of seacape and landscape in Semau
3. There are 46 activity groups / communities strengthened to manage the existing resources in an accountable and transparent manner
Activities : 1. Formulation of procedures and criteria for proposals’ submission by groups/communities in 10 villages facilitated by Comdeks consortium
2. Call for proposals
3. Selection / panel to determine the candidate of grant recipients
4. The awarding of grants to 20 groups / communities developing 46 activities approximately
5. Training of management and simple financial reporting by group / community of grant recipients
Objective 2 : Process and variety of smart practices and learning as the result of capacity building of initiatives and creative actions of the people in Semau island is documented
Indicators : 1. Printed and audio-visual documentation of the whole process and activities in this program
2. Success stories and smart practices documentation that are being spread through social media (fb, blog / website) and newspaper on the protection of 50-100 ha of forest and its’ sustainable use.
3. A grand meeting among groups, facilitating institutions and governments to share and learn from a variety of smart practices to strengthen communities’ initiative and creative action
Activities : 1. Quarterly monitoring (visitation) by the person in charge of the project and officer
2. Monthly meetings among the project team with facilitating institutions for learning and sharing information about the development of initiative and creative action of the group/community
3. Grand workshop for sharing and learning of smart practices among groups/communities
4. Printed and audio-visual documentation of the group/community’s activities


EXPECTED RESULTS
1. Procedures and criteria for grants to groups / communities
2. Proposal from the group / community to strengthen community’s initiatives and creative actions
3. The strengthening of the group / community capacity on organizational management and group finance
4. The strengthening of initiatives and creative actions of the people and the development of the initial resources’ support
5. A variety of learning and dissemination of smart practices through printed and audiovisual media (newspapers, blogs, websites)

Direct : 200 people
Indirect : 10.000 people in 10 villages.
