Visual artists from both Suriname and the Netherlands will work together to implement three main activities in the Village of Pikien Slee along the Upper Suriname River: assist the women of the village in the eco-branding of their textile handbags, implement an environmental awareness program with the local school children (painting activities), and design/paint a sunscreen for a tourist boat (pilot). The artists will employ natural dyes and colors for their art work.
