Putting the Green Back in Green Valley (going Green in St. Mary’s Park) St. Kitts
Putting the Green Back in Green Valley (going Green in St. Mary’s Park) St. Kitts
The St. Mary’s Park was established as a recreational area for the residents of Cayon village since 1989. It was recently renovated and upgraded to serve as an area for class II cricket matches and it is host to local and regional competitions. It is managed by a committee in conjunction with the Department of Sports.
In the redevelopment of the St. Mary’s Park, there was little consideration in making the greatest utility of it, as an area for biodiversity conservation and development and enhancement of ecosystems, along with being an area for teaching and learning. The Cayon Football Club is one of the users of the park for training, exercise and recreation and we feel that we can contribute to improving the area.
