Major Project results are:
- 80 volunteers mobilized for lopping and clean 5 000 m2 of the territory in Radomyshl town to install new energy efficient street lightening system, 1500 m of voltage cable constructed, 83 old glow lamps dismantled at 5 street's of the town.
- 83 new energy efficient lamps installed, new lightening system of the Radomyshl town built and brought into action, 22 energy efficient lamps will be install to the end of Project.
- Project presentation and public consultations were conducted. Informational workshop for neighboring village council members, local authorities, CSOs’ leaders to raise awareness on Ukrainian and world experience in implementing energy efficiency measures on the local level will be organized in April, 2015.
- The project l assessed economic effect of the improvement of the street lightening system for Radomyshl town, monitor GEF SGP project indicators and made it available for general public, local authorities, GEF NGO network members, Ministry of Environment through participating in the Civil Society Advisory Council.
- The installation of the new energy efficient street lightening in the framework of the Project led to 80% reduction in energy consumption by the town. The Project saved 41375 Kwatt of electric energy during the last 5 months of it’s implementation (from January to May, 2015).
- Finally, the Project provided consultative support to the villages Vepryn, Vyshevich in Radomyshl district on community mobilization, legislative requirements and necessary steps to build and legalize community based organization. As a result, CBO in Vyshevychy was established and legally registered for local development.
· In Partnership with Green Zhytomyrshchyma Network in Radomyshl an informational big board for promotion energy saving activity supported by UNDP and energy saving initiatives for capacity development and public awareness was installed, 2 articles in All-Ukrainian Newspaper “Development and Environment” and Local Newspaper “Zorya Polissya” about best practices and experience of the Project published.
- More than 354 citizens of Radomyshl and Radomyshl district participated in the Project, (167 women between 25 and 65 years old, 149 men between 30 and 60 years old, 38 children from 7 to 18).
