Conservation of Marine Turtles in the Mamanuca Group of Islands, Fiji
This project will directly address and provide a platform for community based and tourism-operator –based conservation, of marine turtles. The main objective is to implement the Best Practice Guidelines and Policies developed in the first phase of the Project. This project will also allow for the implementation of the Mamanuca Sea Turtle Community Based Management Plans in the target villages.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
Results and findings from biological surveys and other assessments conducted during the duration of the project directly contributes and supports the existing 2020-2025 Sea Turtle Recovery Plan. At the same time, MES is working in collaboration with other key partners such as Ministry of Fisheries ad WWF, amongst others, to gather information to finalize a Turtle Conservation Plan for Fiji.
