“Alternative Production of Grains and Home Garden Crops in the Belize River Valley”
The objective of this project is to provide productive adaptation to climate change for 60-plus grain producers in the Belize River Valley communities who plant approximately two (2) acres per crop cycle each by providing irrigation capability for farming in the dry season instead of the rainy season and reduce the risk of crop loss due to increased flooding resulting from climate change.
This will be achieved through the provision of ten 3-inch diesel pumps, with intake hoses and output pipes for rotational use among the members and plastic/rubber liner material for implementation of 5 or more artificial ponds.
