Due to land degradation in communities such as Brejão da Grota, Angico and Jatobá the local river Itapicuru and its water distribution is being jeopardized, the communities are working on recovering 17 springs of the Itapicuru. During the last drought, forest fires worsened the situation of the springs where 23 of them were already in critical conditions. The communities are working on reversing the situation, 25 families will participate in capacity building and contextualized technical assistance will be given to 100 families. The project hopes to benefit and inform 500 individuals from the communities and in the area. The project also includes beekeeping information and capacity building.
