The project introduced energy-efficient technologies to communities of Natalivka and Oleksiivka villages, Poltava region and conducted and effective information campaign. The team removed 330 ineffective lamps and replaced them with energy-efficient ones to reduce energy consumption. In addition, to contribute to energy saving, the project passed 200 lamps to the local households. The replacement of lamps will help avoid 39 tonnes of CO2. More than 150 local residents took part in the presentation of the project, two public hearings on climate change issues and environmental monitoring. The team also held an information event “What do we know about energy-saving at home?” along with development and distribution of promotional brochures and handbooks on organization, teaching and conduct of environmental monitoring of energy conservation and environmental changes.
As part of capacity building for future environmental initiatives, the NGO established 20 new partnerships with local and national organizations. The organization also actively participated in preparations and conduct of the All-Ukrainian Children's Environmental Forum "Children for Environment – the Future We Want!", European School "Sustainable Community Development. Lithuania’s Experience”, International Environmental Forum “Environment for Ukraine – 2014” and the GEF SGP Knowledge Fair. Overall, more than 200 people took part in the project.
