The Aarhus Convention and youth ecological centers establishment for better capacity development and information dissemination
The project is aimed to increase environmental education and ecological awareness on climate change issues among local communities by establishing Aarhus Convention and youth ecological centers in Lugansk region. The project is going to achieve its objective by implementation of the following activities: - establishment of Aarhus Convention and Youth Ecological Centres in the Department of Environment and Natural Resources of Lugansk Regional State Administration and educational work among young people; - public events to disseminate information on the project; development of Information Guide "Creating a nature reserve funds of Lugansk Region" and "Plants of the regional list of species requiring protection in Lugansk region" and its distribution to stakeholders (libraries, educational institutions, etc.); - creation of video and distribution to the local population; - design and publication of newspaper "Ecoday", etc.

Project sustainability
The established Aarhus Centre and the Youth Ecological Centre in Luhansk continue to promote the main concepts and goals of the Aarhus Convention through updating of the ecological web-resource, cooperation with the local authorities, other NGOs and the community.
Policy Influence
The project facilitated implementation of the Aarhus Convention on a local level through creation of partnerships with local authorities in Luhansk region and a wide information campaign held within general public. Currently the Aarhus Centre operates in strong liason with the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of Luhansk region.
