Building capacities of forest communities to enhance equitable forest benefit sharing
The project will reach out to communities living close to the forest in Kimakia, Gatare and Wanjerere in protecting forest resources. It will also build capacity of 3 CFAs to enable them carry out PFM activities. This will provide livelihoods for the unemployed youth while also being environmentally sustainable.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
An information spreading stream will be built through mass education ICT tools. Schools will share knowldege on PFM. 5000 easy read booklets will be given to schools 500 copies of a DVD outlining Community Based PFM. The DVD narration will be aired on a vernacular radio station to the Eastern Aberdares communities.
Notable Community Participation
Communities will participate in workshops for group management, bee keeping, branding and marketing of bee products, running of ecotourisms sites. They will also participate in the establishment of a trout fish station, construction of a storage yard, an Apiculture IGA, establishing improved indigenous tree and grass multiplication sites.
