Engaging the Plaisance Community in establishing, maintaining and managing a biodiversity hub in the district - A planning grant
Engaging the Plaisance Community in establishing, maintaining and managing a biodiversity hub in the district - A planning grant
'Rosebelle' falls in the Seychelles National Park, a place with special vegetation and species and a number of endemic flora and fauna. The threat of these special endemic species is also evident, especially with invasive species such as cinnamons. Special endemic and rarely species such as frogs, snails, orchids and pitcher plants strive in this area. This project will address some of the problems happening in this protected area and will also assist in the implementation of the strategies in regards to biodiversity conservation.
The objectives of such project are :
•Strengthening community capacity for ecosystem management, and enhance community participation and conservation working partnership
• Ensuring the long-term conservation of Rosebelle biodiversity in the face of competing development pressure
•Serving as a replicable model of biodiversity conservation at district/community level (which can eventually be expanded and replicated in other districts)
