Empowering Fishermen from Dangriga to ensure greater participation in the decision-making process that impacts their livelihood
The main objective of this COMPACT project is:
• to establish an office that would centralize the activities of DFA for better coordination
• to strengthen the capacities of the board members of the DFA to enhance better collaboration and participation in fisheries management
In order to achieve this goal, DFA is cognizant that it is vital to enhance its capacity for project management and implementation. To achieve this, and to build a solid base, members of the DFA have been participating will participate in several workshops on project management, accounting and financial management, project monitoring and evaluation and conflict resolution. This COMPACT funding will also provide for supporting infrastructure for the future activities of the organization. In addition, a Strategic Plan will be develop the efforts of the DFA over the course of 2013-2015.
