Climate Change Mitigation and Rural Empowerment in Okegbala Communities of Disabled Persons in Kwara State
The project is aimed at climate change mitigation and empowerment of disabled persons. It will involve the followings: conduct 2 awareness raising workshops to engage the community in local mitigation and issues of best practices. 900 stand of citrus orange tree will be planted for forest re-generation and livelihood enhancement. Each stove will save 1,473 pounds (668 kg) of firewood per year. Construct 100 N0s of Save energy Stove as alternative means of cooking for the disabled persons to reduce deforestation and environmental pollution. Construct One (1) Bore Hole to reduce water scarcity, the burden of women and children. Reduce typhoid, cholera and airborne diseases in the three communities. Construct 3 Stool WC Toilets to reduce Open Defecation and Pollution.
