Sustainable Agriculture - Fifa Protected Area
Ghor Fifa Local Development Society has established partnership with the newly established Protected Area management “Fifa Reserve” to integrate sustainable development and nature conservation efforts together and involve members of the local community with the decision making process in order to be part of the strategic planning of the Protected Area and to improve natural resource management in the southern Jordan Valley region.
The Project aims to adopt an integrated natural resources management approach to achieve sustainable development and preserve the unique biodiversity rich ecosystem of Ghor Fifa. The Project deal with the multiple problems of land degradation and agrochemicals due intensive agricultural practices by providing a model based on natural "organic" sustainable agriculture techniques, the Project also contribute to nature conservation efforts initiated by the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature.
